Here is 2007 in links:
- We went from the Center Of The World all the way to the outer reaches at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
- We found salvation at the brightly colored Salvation Mountain but not so much at the Rosary Bowl.
- The Altar Boy visited as a single man and we experienced the Cold Spring Tavern and a live recording of This American Life together. We returned the favor and flew to Minnesota to experience the Altar Boy marry his sweetheart.
- We had fun on the Big Bear Alpine Slide and enjoyed Elmer's brightly colored Bottle Forest on the way home.
- We watched the aerial acrobatics and skilled flying at the NBVC Air Show and the Red Bull Air Races.
- We went to the Festival of Books and saw one of the Wife's favorite authors.
- I visited Rhode Island on business and had a good time visiting the area.
- We sang along with the Sound Of Music and marveled at the Pageant of the Masters.
- We celebrated out 10th wedding anniversary apart.
- The Wife became a celebrity .
- I was disappointed with the Aloha Beach Festival but enjoyed the Kinetic Sculpture races.
- We visited the Adamson House and admired the tile and the gardens.
- I fought tendonitis and I didn't let it win.
- We had fun with the Best Man and Matron of Honor in Las Vegas and stopped by the Calico Ghost Town on the way home.
- We saw Notre Dame's first win as they defeated UCLA at the Rose Bowl.
- We searched for Mary in the dessert but we lost our way and only found ghost towns.
- We skipped Halloween this year - both of us were too tired and busy to answer the door.
- Smoke from the wildfires choked the sky over Oxnard.
- I fought a MRSA infection and, once again, won.
- The Wife met Charlie Weis - her coach boyfriend.
- The Santa Clara Saints won the championship with the help of the Helmets of Victory.
- We had a wonderful dinner with our friend the "J" and her parents.
- We visited 6 of the California Missions including a visit to the I Madonnari festival in Santa Barbara.
- I enjoyed every one of the 40 hikes I did this year covering 279.67 miles. I managed to locate 222 geocaches while doing the hikes. My one hike a week plan was interrupted only by the Altar Boy's wedding, Tendonitis, and MRSA, and exceeded my expectations.
- We went to several concerts this year - most of them in October. We saw:
- A Tribute to the Beatles' Sergeant Pepper album featuring Cheap Trick, Aimee Mann, Joan Osborne, and more
- The GoGos
- Rilo Kiley
- The Eagles with the Dixie Chicks
- The B-52s
- I was a slow reader managing to finish only 8 books this year - not as many as I'd wanted.
Next year will be a year of change for us and I will try to keep you all posted (I promise not to be as down as my last post).
Here's to a Happy and Prosperous New Year for all. May all your dreams come true in 2008.
