Camino De Santiago - Pictures - Saint Jean Pied De Port To Roncesvalles

The Camino between Saint Jean Pied de Port and Roncesvalles is one of the most beautiful stretches ... if you can see it.  When I crossed the Pyrenees there were low clouds and fog when I reached the Albergue of Orisson.  Before that though I was blessed with gorgeous views of sun lit valleys and mountains.
My first decision on the Camino: Which way to go?
The hardest way of course!  Onward to the Route de Napoléon.
A beautiful view along the Camino on the way to Albergue de Orisson.
The sun rising on the Pyrenees.
Are you kidding me?!? Another beautiful view along the Camino on the way to Albergue de Orisson!?!
After Orisson the clouds thickened and the visibility went down to 20 yds.
If you look carefully you can see the pilgrim ahead of me.
Roland's Fountain.
Commemorating a losing battle between Charlemagne's Paladins and the Saracens.
Roncesvalles finally!!!
I've added these pictures and more to my 2011 Camino de Santiago Google Photos album.  Don't forget to click through to see them all.
