A Day Of Downs And Ups

Monday was a day of downs and ups. I didn't sleep well. My dreams were weird and were more hallucination than dreams. I didn't feel that great when I got up but went into work anyway. I only made if there for two hours before I gave up and went home. I've been laying around all day on the couch with Homer watching Man vs. Wild and Survivorman. My calves are killing me from my Knapp's Castle hike, my nose is running despite the Claratin-D, and I feel like a washed out rag. Then I checked my e-mail. I received a message via Flickr. The writer (not sure if it's a he or a she) was investigating the Potrero John hike and came across my Homer's Travels post. They said:
"I have to say that it is the best description out there of the hike, and arguably the best I've seen of any hike because of its detail."
They go on to say that the post was useful and thanked me. What a morale booster. It always feels good to help someone and to be appreciated. I know my writing runs hot and cold and it's nice to know when I get it right. To top it off, I received my new camera today - a Canon Powershot S5 IS. My first "real" camera. Can't wait to try it out.
